Becoming a Volunteer at the Boston Living Center

The Boston Living Center offers many opportunities to work directly with the HIV/AIDS community, or in support of it. Your commitment will be meaningful and much appreciated, whether you want to volunteer for a few hours a week or a few times a month. Our volunteers are a diverse group and include students, corporate groups, church groups, alumni clubs and more.

Important Information Regarding Volunteering with the BLC:

• Please know all volunteer roles will directly impact the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS—we thank you in advance for considering a commitment to working with us!

• Volunteers must be 18 years of age and over.

• All volunteers must sign a confidentiality agreement to protect the personal information of our membership.

Potential volunteers begin with an orientation with our Volunteer Coordinator. The orientation lasts about 40 minutes and includes completing necessary paperwork,an interview and discussion of available positions, and a tour of the Boston Living Center.
A CORI (Criminal Offense Record Information) check is conducted on all volunteer candidates.

We welcome BLC members to become volunteers. But request that you wait 3 weeks after joining the Center before volunteering. Once this initial period is over, members are encouraged to volunteer—this is YOUR Center, and your involvement is critically important!
